50th Anniversary
The committee has been hard at it, with preliminary arrangements made for the 50th Anniversary of the club. T-shirts and polo shirts have been designed, ordered, and will be available for sale at the clubrooms for $25 each.
The format for the day so far is breakfast in the morning, a fishing competition during the day, and a formal dinner in the evening followed by some entertainment.
Please register at the club as soon as possible to assist with catering requirements.
For any of our past members who read this, you are invited to attend. Contact either the Commodore (Brian Anderson) on 0212504707, or Mike Wadams on 027560960 or 096223351 (evenings)
2012 AGM
Nominations for the clubs committee and executive positions are now open. Here is your chance to make changes in the club if you feel that there are aspects of our organisation you feel should be changed.
Nomination forms are available from the club bar.
The date for this meeting is 27th May. The bar will open after the conclusion of the AGM (NOT before!)
January and February's fishing comp results have been posted. You can check them by clicking HERE
The 2012 One Base results can be found HERE
Ahhh, the latest is over in the left panel. I hope to be able to publish them a bit more regularly again now... Well obviously its slacked off again. I hope to get them up to date as soon as possible

The events calendar has ben updated, and the list of up-coming social and fishing functions are listed there.
Boat checks need to be carried out for the coming season.
Fisheries (Ministry of)...Has been merged again with The Agriculture ministry. I wonder who the Minister of Mergers is? Must be a list MP.. Anyway, its happened, with the resulting loss of 250 odd jobs, and the printers going flat tap printing out new letter heads, business cards and a zillion other things (like for instance the fisheries booklet that has all the sizes and limits in it). I think I will put my old one in a drawer somewhere safe, and bring it out when the next reshuffle comes. That should save us, the taxpayer, a couple of dollars.
Not only the expense of all the printing, but all the offices will need signs repainted (yes, in English AND Maori), and of course all the phone line numbers will probably need to be changed. Seems a totally unnecessary load of expense.
Fire Extinguishers Recall...
Some Chubb and Quell extinguishers are under their correct (NZ Standards) filling weight by between 2 and 6 grms.
If your cylinder is one of those listed on the Chubb website(www.chubb.co.nz) or Quell(www.quell/co.nz) website, please contact Chubb for a no questions asked replacement.
For further info, contact Andrew Edwards at Chubb on (09)270 7280
Fishermans Logic
A fisho's wife asked him to go to the supermarket, and get a dozen beer, and if they had fresh eggs, get 6...
Fisho arrives home, and wife asks " why did you get six dozen beer"?
Fisho sez "well, they had fresh eggs"
News updates...
As I get news, it will be placed here as soon as possible, so check back in often, in case the club decides to spring an event on us at short notice.
Meanwhile, take care. Keep those lines in the water,
Ian
